A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at Peever Lutheran Church in Peever, SD on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon with visitation beginning at noon. Rev. Kay Reeb will be officiating. Pianist will be Laura Nielsen. Urn Bearer will be Justin Block. Honorary Urn Bearers will be Betty's Grandchildren. There will be a luncheon in her honor immediately following at the Peever Community Center and an inurnment ceremony to follow at One Road Bethel Cemetery, SD.

Betty Arlene Block, 88, of Sisseton passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND on April 23, 2026. Betty was born on June 17th, 1937 to Benny & Thelma Jordal at Sisseton, SD. She attended Sisseton High School, graduating class of 1955.

Betty was known for her kind caring heart and big bright smile, for her incomparable love of her family, for her deep devotion to God and her church community, and her countless acts of service.

She will be cherished in memory by her three sons- Curtis Block & wife Janice of Oskaloosa, IA, Gerry Block of Sisseton, SD and Daniel Block & wife Kathy of Brookings, SD, 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as her siblings- Audrey Harrison, Tamra Coons, Lonnie Jordal, many beloved nieces, nephews and everyone else who was lucky enough to know her.

Betty was received in heaven by the love of her life, Gerald Block, along with her parents and younger brother Larry Jordal, her great-granddaughter Esther Block, and many other close friends and family members.

Memorials can be given to One Road Bethel Cemetery.
