Funeral Mass for Bonnie A. Lotzer, 84, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Gregg Frankman Celebrant. Organist will be Colette Hull and song leader will be Sandi Jaspers. Pallbearers will be Wayne Fonder, John Lotzer, Mike Conroy, Jim Griffin, Jason Samson, David Lotzer, and Dustin Lotzer. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Bonnie's Family, Friends, CDP co-workers, and the staff of TLC. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery. There will be public visitation at the Church from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements . Mask and social distancing are required.

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Friend too many, Bonnie was born on May 25, 1936 in Graceville, MN. She attended school in Graceville and pursued her 3 year Nursing Degree in St. Cloud, MN. After attending college, Bonnie married Virgil Lotzer February   4, 1958 in Graceville and to this union two children were born, Douglas & Susan. They have lived in Sisseton all of their 62 years of marriage.  Bonnie was a Registered Nurse at IHS for a short time & at Coteau Des Prairies from the mid 1960's – October 5, 2010. She was known by many as "Nurse Bonnie" while passionately caring for thousands of patients of all ages. Remembering back…I seriously have never heard Mom complain about her "Job" or "Co-Workers" but… when the new computer system was being introduced at CDP she told everyone "I am too old to learn that entire new computer STUFF!!" After retirement, Bonnie & Virgil went on their 2 ^nd Alaskan Cruise, Billings, Montana to watch their grandson play baseball & Washington numerous times to visit Doug & his family. They thoroughly enjoyed their Buffalo Lake Home in the summer months playing a lot of dice and cards with all their friends. Bonnie was very dedicated to her family, friends, co-workers and faith. She thoroughly enjoyed Life in general…gardening (both vegetable & flowers), traveling, Sisseton Redmen Sports, Minnesota Vikings & Twins. If you wanted to know anything about MLB or NFL teams she could tell you, whether it be team records, rosters, etc. She was a big part of our family events; she was always encouraging, graceful and had a beautiful kind soul. In April of 2012 Bonnie suffered a severe stroke that paralyzed her left side and was hospitalized in Fargo and admitted to Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton May 3, 2012. Virgil was the "BEST CAREGIVER" in her eyes!! He actually took Bonnie home on Halloween 2012 and tried his hand as the chief, cook & bottle washer which lasted 5 months until under the circumstances she had to be re-admitted to TLC April 2013. Virgil spent almost every day-all day at the nursing home by her side and helping other residents with activities and serving water/coffee and such just to be with Mom until Covid introduced itself to our world this spring.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Virgil, son Doug (Kathy) Lotzer; Lynnwood, WA and daughter Susan (Randy) Deutsch; Sisseton; granddaughter Amanda (James Hayes) 1 great-grandson James Jr. and grandson Jason Lotzer (Carly Waters) all of Washington; brother-in-law Larry; sister-in-laws Sharon & Gail; 3 step grandchildren; Riley, Jerrad & Brittany Frisk all of Washington and numerous nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents George & Bernadine Hervert, daughter-in-law Tammy Jo Lotzer, sisters Elaine (Chuck), Delores (John), Marge (James-Jerry) & Florence (Dick) and 1 brother Glen (Catherine); mother and father in law Bernard & Velva Lotzer.
