Funeral service for Benedict Arnold Buffalo-Renville, 60 of Grand Rapids, MN will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center, Agency Village, South Dakota with Gerald Red Buffalo officiating with drum group by Redstorm. Pallbearers are Brain Rodlund, Brian Rodlund Jr., Moses Rodlund, Romeo Renville, Walter Seaboy and Eric MacConnell. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Benedict's friends, relatives, and caregivers over the years. Interment will be in the Sisseton-Wahpeton Traditional Burial Grounds, Sisseton, South Dakota. There will be wake service on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center at 7:00 P.M. and All Night Wake Service Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.

Ben was born on April 7, 1958 in Sisseton, SD to Gladys Buffalo.

Ben, Cecil, Frank, and Kirk were all separated from their mother at a young age, by the Welfare System. They were adopted out except for Cecil and Ben. Cecil was sent to boarding school and somehow they found each other after all those years. Ben traveled a lot at a young age and I'm sure he touched a lot of people's hearts. Around 1982 Ben was living in California. He was walking when he was struck by a hit and run driver, which left him paralyzed. Cecil traveled to California to see him in the hospital and to bring him home to be placed in Tekakwitha Living Center. Later he then was moved to Minneapolis Rehab Center where he was treated until his passing on December 1, 2018.

Ben is survived by Cecil Robert Renville Jr. of New Effington, SD, Frank M. Buffalo of Sioux Falls, SD, Frances W. (Kirk) Buffalo of Kalamazoo, MI; and step-parents Steve and Faye Bury of Louisiana, and sister Cheryl Spider of Sisseton, SD.
