Funeral Service for Beeman "Daniel Swift Eagle" HighEagle, 54 of Peever, SD will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Peever Community Center, Peever, SD, with Jr. Heminger CLP officiating. Organist will be Billy Kohl and Drum Group Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Jeremy HighEagle, Dion HighEagle, Adam HighEagle, Kobe HighEagle, Seth Eastman, Emerson Eastman, Derek DeMarrias and Avery Heminger. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Eastman, Harvey Quinn, Adrian Grey Buffalo, Daren Amos, Marlon Amos, Nathan Hill, Garth Blacksmith, Craig Blacksmith, Joe Eastman, Cary Eastman, Tracy Heminger, Daniel Greeley, Charlie Eastman, Rita Finley, Katie Hill, Lindsey Richotte, Louanne Phelps, Patty Nerison, Misty Fayant, Billy Owen, Jim Croymans and Cecil McBride Sr. Interment will be in the Greeley Family Cemetery, Big Coulee, SD. There will be wake services starting at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 and all night Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Peever Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Beeman was born on June 22, 1962 in Sisseton, SD to Nora Greeley and Daniel HighEagle. Beeman was a gifted and very talented artist. His artwork is on display in various offices, buildings and homes throughout the area. He enjoyed doing crossword, word search and sudoku puzzles. Beeman was a very kind person and enjoyed helping people. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping care for them. He enjoyed watching "Wheel of Fortune".
He was a graduate of Wilmot High School and also spent time at the Institute of American Indian Art in New Mexico. Beeman served in the National Guards. He was a former employee of Dakota Magic Casino.
On February 1, 2017 Beeman lost his courageous battle with cancer at the Wilmot Nursing Center.
He is survived by his sisters; Barbara Birdsbill of Wolfpoint, MT and Mary HighEagle of Peever, SD; brother Ervin HighEagle of Peever, SD; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and a special little granddaughter Sunshine.
Beeman is preceded in death by his parents Daniel SwiftEagle HighEagle and Nora Greeley Earth; wife Audrey HighEagle; three brothers William SwiftEagle, Alfred SwiftEagle and Willard Greeley; three sisters Lynette HighEagle, Diane Redd and Della Eastman; two nephews Carmen Birdsbill and Floyd Greeley.
