Our Mom, Barbara Murray, 84, of Aberdeen, SD formerly of Sisseton, SD went home to Jesus on August 28, 2019.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:30 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Jerry Ranek celebrant. There will be memorial visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Sisseton, SD.

Barbara Murray was born in Browns Valley, MN on August 29, 1934 to Jacob and Judith (Amlin) Hess. She was the youngest of four children. She was educated in Browns Valley and graduated from Browns Valley High School.

On March 28, 1951 Barbara married Robert Determan. Together they had eight children. The children were raised in Sisseton, by their loving, caring, and hard working mom. Robert and Barbara divorced.

After the children left home Barbara married Bernard Determan. They lived for a time Michigan before returning to Sisseton, SD. The two of them enjoyed traveling and their two dachshunds Jake and Judy.

Bernard passed away and Barbara married Bud Murray. They enjoyed living in Sisseton, SD.

Barbara enjoyed working as a waitress at several cafes in Sisseton, visiting with residents at the Tekakwitha Nursing Center, sending cards to her loved ones, and walking to Billy's Cafe to sit by the window for lunch or to just enjoy a cup of tea.

Barbara contracted West Nile and spent the last eight years of her life at the Aberdeen Health and Rehab Center. There she enjoyed bingo, visiting with the other residents, and having her hair and nails done. Nancy Determan of Aberdeen, SD was a very loving special friend to mom. She considered mom her mother. They visited almost every day.

Barbara is survived by her children Dennis and Nancy Determan of Beulah, ND, Tim Determan of Aberdeen, SD, daughter-in-law Holly Determan of Milbank, SD and Cindy Summitt of Safford, AZ; a sister Beverly Lanie of Sioux Falls, SD; twelve grand children; seventeen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; children Mary, Bruce, Greg, Jeffery, and Brent; two brothers Roger and Richard; and her spouses.
