Funeral Service for Arnold Dean Finnesand, 71, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Joshua Knudsen officiating.  Organist will be Marti Knudsen and soloist Jenna Appel.  Pall bearers will be Clay Finnesand, Dane Finnesand, Charlie Richards, James Richards, Zach Guy, Rusty Guy, and Robin Richards.  Honorary Pall bearers will be "All Arnold's nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  Interment will be in the Peever Cemetery, Peever, South Dakota.  There will be visitation on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Arnold was born on September 8, 1950 in Sisseton, SD to Irvin and Evelyn (Lekness) Finnesand.  He attended Hart #3 township country school through 8 ^th grade.  He then attended Sisseton High school and graduated with the class of 1969.  After high school he worked many years for various ranchers around Sisseton. After his ranch hand days he worked for Dacotah Industries, Farmers Coop Elevator, and the City of Sisseton where he retired in 2013.

On July 3, 1976 he was united in marriage to Delores Richards at Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton, SD.  They were blessed with three children, Jennifer, Evan, and Richard.  They spent their married life together in rural Sisseton area until 2019, enjoying the outdoors, when they moved to town.

Arnold enjoyed haying, gardening, hunting, wood working, and collecting Minneapolis Moline tractors big and small.  He joined the Hills & Valley Riding Club in 1972 and made every trail ride till health issues stopped the fun of camping and riding. Arnold passed away on August 10, 2022 at the Wilmot Care Center in Wilmot SD.

Arnold is survived by his wife of 46 years, Delores, daughter Jennifer (Adam) Haessig of Monticello, MN, son Evan (Sherry) of Clear Lake SD, and son Richard (Alicia) of Sisseton, SD.  Seven grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan Haessig, Caden, Kyle, Carson, Ashlynn, and Colter Finnesand. Brothers Harlan Finnesand of Sisseton, SD and Calvin (Liz) Finnesand of Peever, SD. Sisters Brenda (Dan) Gomarko of Veblen, SD and Sandi Alexander of Hamel MN.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Evelyn (Lekness) Finnesand.
