Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, SD.

Arlyn Opsal, 70, of Sisseton passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 surrounded by family in the Sanford Palliative Care Center in Fargo ND. Arlyn Maurice Opsal was born August 26, 1943 to Maurice and Arlette (Johnson) Opsal in Sisseton. Arlyn grew up in the Sisseton area and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1961. Arlyn lived his entire life in the Sisseton area. He drove the delivery truck for City Bakery while in High School. Following graduation he worked for P.A. Bradbury Construction and CIark Construction. In the early 60's he was then employed as a bartender for various local establishments. Arlyn Iiked to bowl, watch TV and movies and his favorite food was chicken. He also loved dogs, to shop for Christmas and he loved to decorate for the holidays. Arlyn married Sharon Nelson of Veblen, SD in 1980. Sharon passed away in 1991. Arlyn had a Special friend, Alice Kallstrom, who passed away on July 24, 2009. Arlyn is survived by one brother, Duane (Judy) Opsal of St Michael, MN, sisters, Barbara (Richard) Gray of Westminster, CO, Nova (Truman) Nelson of Sisseton, SD, Sharon (Merle) Schmaus of South St Paul, MN, Cheryl (Jim) Long of Sisseton, SD and many nieces and nephews.
