Ardeth Mae Randall was born on September 15, 1930, in Browns Valley, MN to Malcolm and Catherine (Moore) Randall and was the youngest of five siblings. Ardeth was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in the town of Browns Valley, MN where she grew up and attended school. On September 15, 1948, Ardeth was united in marriage to Archie Simon in Webster, SD. They made their home on a farm in Easter Township near Sisseton, where they resided for fifty years. In 1998 Ardeth and her husband joined St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton. Ardeth was devoted to her Catholic faith and an active member of the Daughters of Isabella for 53 years. She so cherished her weekend retreat attending the Koinania with spiritual director, Father Greg. She cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, and gifted each grandchild with a lovingly compiled "Grandma Ardeth" photo album. Ardeth's busy social life included two bridge clubs, a 60-year membership in La femme club, and many years of bowling. Ardeth was also an avid seamstress and made many of her own as well as her children's clothes. She was also a wonderful cook, and anyone who stopped by was welcome at their table. Ardeth and Archie enjoyed many years of traveling the USA, along with a Caribbean and Alaskan Cruise. Their travels took them to Hawaii, Branson, MO, Niagara Falls, a fall foliage tour of the New England States, and many trips to California, Louisiana, Canada, and Montana. They also enjoyed a 6-week motor home trip to Mexico. After retirement Archie and Ardeth enjoyed winters together in Mission, TX for 14 years, and enjoyed staying in contact with dear park and church friends for many years thereafter.
