Funeral Service for Arden Dale Moen, 80, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday August 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Peever Community Center, Peever, SD with Pastor Scott Davis officiating. Organist will be Alicia Peterson. Soloist will be Holly Butrum. Pallbearers will be Clayton Moen, Michael Moen, Rick Moen, Ron Moen, Alan Schmidt, David Vig, Mitchell Moen, and Matthew Moen. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Arden's nieces, nephews, family and friends. Interment will be at Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be a visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Thursday August 12, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. till 6:00 P.M. with a prayer and sharing service starting at 7:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Arden Moen was born July 26, 1941, to Midel and Josephine (Grinde) Moen in Sisseton, SD. He attended Drywood Lake Grade School and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1959.

Arden married Carol Wilson on April 3, 1964, at the Peever Methodist Church. Arden and Carol had two children Michelle and Mark. They recently celebrated their 80 ^th birthdays together.

He worked various jobs including hauling hay and gravel, working as a meat cutter and carry out at Supervalu, working on the Oahe Dam in Pierre, helping with laying water and sewer lines in Rapid City, SD. In 1969 Arden and his brothers purchased Lake Region Truckline hauling livestock for local farmers. In 1972 he bought his brothers out of the business and selling the semi portion to Arrow Truckline in Watertown becoming a loading agent in the Sisseton area. In February 1986 he purchased Mobil Southside Service gas station closing in 1989 due to Federal regulations. In July 1991 Arden started as the Roberts County Director of Equalization continuing until June 2007. After retiring he started helping on the neighbor's farm.

Arden enjoyed gardening, playing cards, spending time at his grandson's sporting, school and scouting events, attending area auctions and visiting with everyone who came to the occasional rummage sale. Arden was always happy working on any remodeling or building project.

Arden dedicated many hours into planning and building the Bible Fellowship Community Church in Peever, SD. He was an active member of the church, holding various board positions and Sunday school teacher. The church changed to Christian Missionary Alliance in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Carol, daughter Michelle, and son Mark (Michelle J) grandsons Matthew and Mitchell, brothers Maynard (Sharon), Larry (Marge) of Sisseton, SD, and sister Elaine Pederson of Canby, MN, and a sister-in-law Pauletta Moen of Tennyson, IN and many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. He will be missed for his caring compassionate nature.

Arden is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clayton, Edward and Ray, and sister Connie Moen.

He will be fondly remembered as a kind and generous pillar of the family and church.
