Funeral Service for Antoinette "Toni" M. Owen, Cante Waste Yuha Iha Kaġa Win "with a good heart makes them laugh women", 61, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on November 3, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD with John Kampeska officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl and Drum Group will be Old Agency Singers. Pallbearers will be John Sargeant, Tyler Sullivan, Chavin Owen, Victor Simon, Corwin Bluedog, Stone Hill, Chris Owens and Virgil Lewandowski Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rhesha Renville, Marlene White, Thelma White, Brenda Renville, Estelle Hopkins, Ruth Iyarpeya, Grace Iyarpeya, Michelle Cloud, Ramona St. John, Debra Kongi, Coleen Roberts, Jackie Kampeska, Louella Cloud, Candace Eberhardt, Lesley Buckelk, Linda Lewandowski, Brenda Lee Ohnstad, and Bunny Campbell. There will be an all-night wake service on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at the Enemy Swim Community Center. Interment will be in the Owl Lake Cemetery, Waubay, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Toni was born on September 12, 1960 at Watertown, SD to Quentin Tessier and Teresa Simon. Toni was raised by Irene and Zack Thompson. She was married to Claude Kampeska Sr. and then the last 18 years to Michael Owen. She lived most of her life on the Sisseton Wahpeton Reservation. She attended St. James Church. She worked as an early head start/head start teacher, Enemy Swim Head start cook, and worked at Dakota Sioux Casino. Her hobbies were music, dancing, bingo, collecting jewelry, thrift shopping, taking pictures, visiting, bowling, arts and crafts and puzzles. She like eating fish, oysters and drinking tea. Toni died on October 30, 2021 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND surrounded by family & comfort care providers.

Toni is survived by her husband, Michael Owen of Sisseton, SD; her children Quentin (Rhesha Renville) Owen of Enemy Swim, SD, Renae Kampeska of Old Agency, SD, Claude W. Kampeska Jr. of Owl Lake, SD, John Kampeska of Owl Lake, SD, William Kampeska of Watertown, SD, Andrew Owen of Sisseton, SD and Eliana Owen of Sisseton, SD; brothers Danny, Virgil, Darrel and Merle; sisters Collette, Mona, Evie, Georgette, and Donette, 17 grandchildren, 17 nephews and 13 nieces.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Irene Thompson, Ervin St. John, Teresa Simon and Quentin Tessier and a sister Jolene.
