Ann Marie Eagle was born on May 11, 1957 in Sisseton, SD to Marcella Eagle. She was Marcella's only daughter. Elijah and Clara Eagle were her grandparents and they raised her at Blue Dog Lake near Waubay, SD. She attended grade school in Sisseton, SD and Tekakwitha Children's Home. She moved with her grandparents to Waubay, SD where she attended High School. She traveled all over the United States. She met and made many friends every where she went. She loved to tell stories and jokes to her favorite nieces & nephews. She loved to go to the dances, listen to music wherever her nephew Jr. Barse played. She also loved to play bingo and do crossword puzzles. She had a big heart, always caring about family and friends. She settled down in Waubay, at her Grandmother Clara Eagles' home in 2005. She told her grandmother it was time to settle down now and her grandmother was so happy she was home. Because her grandmother constantly worried about Ann's many travels. God gave her a reason for coming home, because our grandmother passed away a few months later. Ann always said there was a reason why she came home when this happened. To us, there was a reason why Ann came home, too. To be home when her time came to join God and her family.
Ann is survived by two sisters, Michelle Walking Bull of Sisseton, SD and Cheryl Eagle of Sisseton, SD; five aunts Bernadine (Eagle) Gaikowski of Peever, SD, Charlotte Grey of Sisseton, SD, Kathy Barse of Peever, SD, Nadine (Eagle) Anderson, and Donna Red Bear of Waubay, SD,; two uncles, Francis Eagle of Waubay, SD and Patrick Eagle of Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, maternal , paternal grandparents, two uncles and three aunts.
