Funeral Mass for Angeline Theresa Wanna, 85 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Norman Volk , O.M.I. and Rev. Vern Donnell officiating. Organist will be Kay Burshiem and Music provided by Butch Felix and Eyabay Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Bennett OneRoad, Alex Wanna, Joe Peterson Jr., David Williams, Jay Wanna, and Myron Wanna Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patsy Hart, Mary Trottier, June Renville, Elizabeth Lohness, Irene Nelson, Lillian Owen, Teresa Peters, Marion LaCroix, Geraldine Rencountre, Beatrice Wanna, Alma Renville and The Thompson Girls. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. The Wake Services will be held on Saturday and Sunday starting at 7:00 PM. at St. Catherine's Hall. There will be visitation one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Angeline was born on December 12, 1924 at Fort Totten, ND to Jonah and Seraphina (Sataki) Supongi. She grew up and attended school in Fort Totten at St. Michael's District, following her education she moved to Minneapolis, MN and worked at America Linen, Fanny Farmer, and Metropolitan Medical Center, Angie was united in marriage to Oliver Wanna Sr. in 1946 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. She continued to work at the Medical Center. The couple moved to Sisseton in 1975, when her husband retired. Angie liked to attend garage sales, play bingo and slots. She also liked to travel and bake cookies and bread. Oliver passed away November 1989. Angie continued to live in Sisseton until the time of her death on May 6, 2010 at a Fargo, ND Hospital with her family at her side.
Angie is survived by seven children, Sheila Ann Wanna of Sisseton, SD, Debra May Peterson of Veblen, SD, Anita K. Wanna of Sisseton, SD, Duane F. Wanna of Sisseton, SD, Eugene Michael Wanna of Sisseton, SD, Oliver J. Wanna Jr. of Sisseton, SD and Gerald Wanna of Fort Totten, ND; sixteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Kathryn and Carmen Olivia, and one sister Laura.
