Obituary

Funeral Mass for Angeline A. George, 95, of Morris, MN will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Hitpas O.M.I. celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Marohl with song leader Sandi Jaspers. Pallbearers will be Thomas Hunt, Pam Watkins, Jeff George, Jesse George, Darrin George and Richard Gannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Weber and all of Angie's grandchildren. Interment will be in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cahill Funeral Chapel and from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Peters Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of the arrangements.
Angeline Agnes Gonsior George was born September 3, 1918 in Marshall County, near Grenville, SD to Regina (Rielander) and John Gonsior. As a child Angie lived with her family on the Valness's ranch in Marshall County. Angie attended school in Sisseton, SD and after her education she then went to work for the WPA for two years. Angie met her future husband Paul George at a dance in Eden, SD and they were married on August 10, 1936 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD. Paul and Angie lived on the George homestead in Drywood Lake Township for three months and then moved to Sisseton, SD where they raised their eight children. Angie was very active in St. Peters Catholic Church in Sisseton. In 1968 Paul and Angie moved to St. Paul MN where Angie was employed by Hamline University in Housekeeping Department and later at Midway Hospital. In 1978 Paul and Angie moved to Morris MN. She loved to cook and garden, her hobbies were fishing, playing cards and bingo. Angie was very witty and always happy, she loved to play a joke on people.
Angie passed away February 25, 2014 at Westwind Village, Morris, MN. She moved there November of 2013. Angie had reached the age of 95 years 5 months. She was a wonderful woman who lived a long and gracious life and was a wonderful mother.
Mom greeted the Angels with a smile for she knew her long journey in life was near the end. She is looking down on us from Heaven. Even though mom has been in our lives for a long time she will be deeply missed by her children. Louise ( Danny Barth), Liberty, MO; Delorise Schwake , Salado, TX. Pauline George, Fairfax CA; Carol (Bill Watkins), St. Paul, MN; Raymond ( Anita) Morris, MN; Robert George of Sisseton, SD; Dennis (Dianna) of Morris, MN and Darlene ( Dick Gannon), St. Paul, MN. This group of children produced twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren , nineteen great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. Angie kept close tabs on each and every child, she new them by name and who's family they belonged in. Angie also has a sister, Cecelia Oxenrider of Odessa, TX.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, of 57 years Paul, her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and two grandsons Perry and Danny.
