Funeral Service Andrew David Shepherd Sr., 29 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, January 15, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at The Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Fr. Charles Chan, Fr. Les Campbell and John Cloud III officiating. Organist will be Kay Burhiem with Special music by Butch Felix, Joe and Kathy White. Pallbearers will be Daniel Shepherd, Brandon Shepherd, Jesse Thompson, Gavin Shortman, Dean Kitto, Claude Keeble, George Keeble, Trinity Thompson, and Curtis Bissonette. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Andrew's Relatives and Friends. Interment will be in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, rural Browns Valley, South Dakota. There will be all night wakes on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 and Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center, Agency Village, SD. Andrew was born on February 12, 1980, in Sisseton, SD to Raymond Shepherd and Ramona Keeble. He attended school at Browns Valley, MN and Tiospa Tribal School. He played football when he was in high school. Following high school Andrew worked for Dean George doing drywall. Andrew was united in marriage to Carrithe Brave Bull on December 22, 2005 at Sisseton, SD. They made their home at Long Hollow, and he enjoyed teaching his nephews to ride horse. Andrew like bull riding, rodoes, horseshoes, fishing, hunting and playing cards. Andrew belonged to the Unity Riders. Andrew passed away on January 13, 2010 at the Tekakwitha Living Center after a short illness.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Carrithe Shepherd of Sisseton, SD; his father, Raymond Shepherd of Enemy Swim, SD; five children, Andrew D. Jr. and Adrian D. Shepherd; Chris and Christi Brave Bull and Ceyanna Pilcher all of Sisseton, SD; six brothers, Claude Keeble of Watertown, SD, Daniel Shepherd of Fargo, ND, Brandon Shepherd of Sisseton, SD, George Keeble of Santee, NE, Leonard Shepherd of Agency Village, SD and Raymond Shepherd III of Enemy Swim, SD; six sisters, Charlotte Shepherd of Agency Village, SD, Nikki Keeble of Hankinson, ND, Fern Keeble of Lake Traverse, SD, Tami Shepherd of Browns Valley, MN, Katlynn Shepherd and Raylynn Shepherd of Rosholt, SD; Mother-in-law, Barbara Wolfe of Sisseton, SD and father-in-law Orville LaBatte of Webster, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Keeble; one sister, Claudette Keeble, and two brothers, Joshua Shepherd and Adrian Keeble.
