Memorial Service for Amanda Joyce Country, "Zitkana Duta Win" Red Bird Woman, 77 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, S D with Sundance Leaders, Dennis Gill Sr.,    Arnold Williams, Mikey Peters, Eric Jens, Donnie Eastman, Guy Canku and Jessie Larson officiating. Drum Group will be Toka Nuwan. Urn bearers will be Gina Motah and Tina Motah. Inurnment will be in the Long Hollow Presbyterian Cemetery, Long Hollow. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

A Tribute from her children Joyce was born on November 23, 1945, at Sisseton, South Dakota, on the Lake Traverse Reservation, home of her beloved Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. Her father Francis Country Sr. and her mother Esther Country "Wopida Waste Win". Joyce's sisters and brothers include Jeffery John Country and Francis Country Jr. Her hunka sisters include Linda Obago Nicolar and Wanda Thompson, Monica Thompson, Linda Crawford and Phyllis Robertson. Throughout her lifetime, Joyce influence with her siblings was extensive with regard to guidance and hope and motivation. Her home was always open for them and she always shared whatever she has with them. Amanda Joyce Country served the Oyate as a Long Hollow Councilwoman for the following terms 2009 – 2010 and 2011 -2012. 2002 ~ Joyce was instrumental in developing the Professional Empowerment Program along with Dr. Dorie. The goal to provide training what will benefit individuals with employment skills, emotional intelligence, awareness of toxic environment and choices. 2000 - 2002 ~ Early Head Start Manager. 1998-2000 ~ Chemical Dependency Technician/Dietary Manager Tekakwitha Adolescent Treatment Center and was promoted to Compliance Manager. 1993 - 1998 ~ Tribal/State Program Specialist under the Governor of SD office. Joyce monitored tribal social services contracts to ensure compliance with federal law, state contractual agreement, and tribal law; providing monthly tech. Joyce left Pierre to return home to care for her mother and her critical illness. 1989 – 1993 ~ Case Manager/Adult Vocational Counselor/Child Care Organizer under the supervision of Mr. Richard Keeble. September 1988 to August 1989 ~ Social Worker with the Department of Social Services in Sioux Falls, SD. 1984-1988 ~ Tribal Child Protection Manager SWO. 1977 -1984 ~ Adoption/Foster Care Worker SWO and was promoted to Manager in 1984. She passed away surrounded by her daughter, Tina and Granddaughter Brittany, a.k.a. Lollie on February 3, 2023 at 12:15 P.M. at Forman, North Dakota having endured a 12 month struggle with dementia.  From the family of Amanda Joyce Country we encourage all of you to cherish your loved ones, and love them unconditionally. Joyce is survived by her Daughters: Gina Motah of Sisseton and Tina Motah of Sioux Falls, SD; Grandchildren : Brittany Lounder of Sioux Falls, SD, Wahcaskawin St. John of Sisseton, SD, Bud "Hepana" Lone Eagle Jr. of Sisseton, SD, Lakota Tawahce Waste Lone Eagle of Sisseton, SD, Great Grandchildren: Blaine "Bubba" Miller of Sioux Falls SD, Trenton Jay Taylor St. John of Sisseton, SD, Maisey  Joyce St. John of Sisseton, SD, Wakinya Najin Lone Eagle of Sisseton, SD, Zitkana Duta Win "Bunny" Lone Eagle of Sisseton, SD.

Joyce is preceded in death by her: grandfather John T. Williams, parents: Francis Country Sr. and Esther Country. Her brothers: Jeffery John Country and Francis Country Jr. Sisters: Phyllis Robertson and Linda Crawford Her child, her baby boy Jay Robert Country. Lastly her grandson Tanner Stickle
