Funeral service for Allan C. Koeppe, 87, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Steve Moberg Officiating. Organist will be Marcia Peterson and soloist will be Pat Schubert. Pallbearers will be Allen Schram, Jerold Krueger, Jerome Borgen, Myron Koeppe, Ronnie Lenz, and Mark Tasa. Honorary pallbearers will be "all of Allan's Family and friends." Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery. There will be visitation on Saturday, January 3, 2009 one hour prior to services at the Church.
Allan C. Koeppe was born on June 22, 1921 near Hammer, SD to William and Anna (Schnieder) Koeppe. He grew up and attended country school at Minnesota Township Country School #1. After his education Allan started farming which he did his whole life. He also worked for several years at the Newday Seed Company in Fargo, ND. Allan was married to Mildred Rice in 1939. He was later married to Olga Hanson-Bickford on February 21, 1962. The couple farmed until they retired and moved to Sisseton. Allan likes to play cards and watch basketball especially the Minnesota Gophers and Timberwolves. He also liked watching the Lady Redman basketball team. Allan was known for his sense of humor and his smile. Allan passed away on December 30, 2008 at the Tekakwitha Nursing Center in Sisseton, SD.
Allan is survived by four step-children, Dean and Bonnie Bickford of Washington and Betty Heitmann of Watertown, SD, Marjorie and Andrew Eide of Sisseton, SD and Roberta Rice of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Iola Wick of Coon Rapids, MN, and Ioane Goodman of Minneapolis, MN; six nieces and nephews, Cherlyn LeVoir of Apple Valley, MN, Perry Erickson of Minneapolis, MN, Carol Bartholomew of Coon Rapids, MN, Randy Wick of Minneapolis, MN, Sandy Hunczak of Anoka, MN, and Mark Wick of Braham, MN.
