Graveside funeral services for Alice Louise Pond, 81, of Wilmot, SD will be held on October 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Peever Cemetery, Peever, SD with Rev. Sheila Pohl officiating.

Masks and social distancing are recommended. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Louise Pond, 81, of Wilmot, SD, passed away October 9, 2020 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD, surrounded by her family.

Alice was born June 8, 1939, in Wilmot, SD, to Ira and Opal (Eck) Crooks. She married Merle Pond of Peever, SD, on July 8, 1957. They moved to Minneapolis following his job with the railroad for 15 years, then returned to Peever in 1981, and finally retiring to Wilmot, SD, in 2004. She worked as a personal health care assistant for most of her life.

Alice is survived by her three sons, Carman Pond of Milbank, SD, Westen (Vicki) Pond of Wilmot, SD, Clifton "Kip" (Jodi) Pond of Rosemount, MN, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Roger (Judy) Crooks of Sisseton, SD and Gary Crooks of Wilmot, SD, three sisters, Barbara Ahern of Oregon, Marilyn Niles of Wisconsin and Carolyn Gwynn of California, plus many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merle, her parents Ira and Opal, her sister Arlene Keddy, and her brothers, Roy and Clinton Crooks.
