Funeral Service for Alice LaRayne Kallstrom, 61, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD. The Rev. Suzanne Benidt will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis, Gerald, Ryan, and Kyle Kallstrom, Jennifer Kaufman, and James Torstenson. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Alice's Relatives and Friends. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Lutheran Cemetery, Rosholt, SD. There will be visitation on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 11:00AM until service time at Cahill Funeral Chapel. Alice was born on March 20, 1948 to Harold and Hazel (Stavig) Kallstrom in Sisseton, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Alice grew up on a farm along Traverse Lake and attended country school and graduated from Browns Valley High School. She then attended Watertown Business University for bookkeeping. After her graduation she worked for Memorial hospital in Watertown, SD for a number of years. She returned to Sisseton where she worked at Tekakwitha Nursing Center and Super Valu, and also worked at the ALCO Store. She joined the Green Thumb Program and worked again at Tekakwitha Nursing Center. Alice liked to talk on the phone, she loved dogs, flowers, children and watching TV, and she especially loved football games. Alice passed away after a lengthy illness on July 24, 2009 at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.
Alice is survived by her longtime companion Arlyn Opsal of Sisseton, SD, several Aunts, Pearl Kallstrom of Rosholt, SD, Esther Kallstrom of St. Paul, MN, and Dorothy Barthel of Garrison, MN, and numerous cousins.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents.
