Alexander Dwayne "Muchie" Eshta Eyes Heminger, 81, of Sisseton, South Dakota passed away on December 11, 2020 at Prairie Lakes Hospital, Watertown, SD. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell and CRE Gerald Heminger Jr. officiating Organist will be Billy Kohl and special music by Harold Amos. Pallbearers will be Jack Thompson, Kojak Heminger, Richard Varnes Jr., Michael Heminger, Keeman Ojeda, Wade DuMarce Sr.,Todd St. John and Isaiah Heminger. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy "Lee" Petty, Richard Bird, and Dakota Pride Center Staff, Kerry Cameron, Dean Abraham Sr., Harold Amos, John German, Wayne German, Jackie White, Leon Marks, Thomas "Hami" Marks Darrell & Cheryl Renville, Allen LaBelle, Dylan Trey DuMarce, and Elderly board- Spencer, Marie, and Elly, Darren and Kenny Walker, Gary Montreal, Sr. Interment will be in the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Veterans Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Military Rites will be provided by the Kit Fox Society. There will be an all night wake at St. Kateri Tekakwith Hall on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 starting at 7:00 P.M. Masks and social distancing are required. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Alexander Dwayne Heminger was born on February 28, 1939 in Peever, SD to LeRoy Heminger and Belle Barse. He attended school in Wilmot and graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Marines served from April 24, 1957 served until May 17, 1960. He worked as a Police Officer for the SW Tribe. He worked for the C.A.P. office with his father LeRoy. He also did transport for I.H.S., he was also an EMT, Reality Officer for Alva Quinn. He loved road construction, if he was able to he would still be doing that. He helped build the Railroad from Wilmot to Montana Boarder walking every step of the way. Muchie was a very caring, helping, humorous, loving guy always there for anyone in need. He traveled near and far to attend all family's events. He loved working on his cars and pick-ups with his brother Harold. They sat out front in the old geezer row visiting. People would drive by and wavy and stop in to visit, everyone knew him as Muchie. He was a firefighter in Montana. He went to Iron Worker School in Chicago, Ill. He worked as a security officer and bell hop at DMC and a security at DCC for a period of time. Muchie enjoyed going to bingo and the casinos with his wife every chance they got. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Alexander passed away on December 11, 2020 at Prairie Lakes Hospital, Watertown, SD.

Alexander is survived by his wife Barbara Heminger of Sisseton, SD; daughter's; Dawn Eagle, Tammie DuMarce, Debbie DuMarce, Helena DuMarce, Cynthia DuMarce, Brenda DuMarce all of Sisseton, SD, and Maxine DuMarce of Veblen and one son Wade DuMarce Sr.of Rosholt, SD; one sister Lois Jackson of Agency Village, SD and two brothers Francis "Tato" Heminger and Harold Amos all of Sisseton, SD; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and numerous other survivors.

Alexander was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Terry Heminger and LeRoy Heminger Jr. and two sisters Peggy Thompson and Ramona Walker, and grandson Conrad DuMarce. .
