Obituary

Funeral Services for Alcott Barron Brant Sr., 54, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Buffalo Lake Presbyterian Church, Eden, SD with Filmore Simon CLP officiating. Drum Group will be the Red Storm. Pallbearers will be Allan Hare, Pat "Cabbage" Fischer, Ronald Brant, Franklin Keeble Jr., Stacy Brant, Alcott Brant Jr., Norman Brant, John German, Stacy Wanna and Randy White. Honorary Pallbearers will be all the Rangers and SWO Members. Wake Services will be held at the Buffalo Lake District Center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM. Thursday will be an all-night wake service. Interment will be in the Buffalo Lake Presbyterian Cemetery. Alcott Barron Brant Sr. was born on November 13, 1957 at Sisseton, SD to Norman Isaac Brant and RoseBlossom (Johnson) Brant. He grew up and attended school In Sisseton, SD. Following his education he moved to Marty, SD and worked as a carpenter and raised his family. He returned to Sisseton where he worked for Peter Janisch and also worked on Road Construction. He was married to Sandra Keeble on June 29, 2012 at Sisseton, SD. Alcott liked to fish and hunt and also was a good cook. He loved singing, playing with the drum group and he also loved to care for children. Alcott was a Sundancer and was very traditional in his ways and life. He passed away suddenly on September 3, 2012 at Coteau Des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD.
Alcott is survived by his wife, Sandra of Sisseton, SD; eleven children, Lorene Clark of Toppenish, WA, Frances Brant of St. Paul, MN, RoseBlossom Brant of St. Paul, MN, Norman Isaac Brant of Marty, SD, Alcott Brant Jr. of Marty, SD, Ida Lufkins of Sisseton, SD, Malana Hart of Shakopee, MN, Sunrise Hart of Marty, SD, Kini Hart of Marty, SD, A.J. Lufkins of Sisseton, SD and Bailey Thompson of Sisseton, SD; three brothers, Ronald K. Brant of Red Iron Lake, SD, Stacy R. Brant Sr. of Red Iron lake, SD, and Rocky Trankle of Laredo, TX; three sisters, Olivia Eastman of Sisseton, SD, Wanda Johnson of Sisseton, SD, and Cynthia Starr of Sisseton, SD; numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and numerous other family, nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Alcott was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gary Dean Brant and Michael Brant; two sisters, Inez Marks and Rita HolyBull.
