Funeral Service for Agnes Elnora Hove, 92, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Paul Osborne officiating. Pianist will be June Evenson and soloist will be Beverly Okeson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Sebek, Mark Hove, Lonnie Hove, Dana Stapleton, Lee Sebek, Andrew Sebek, Tanner Stapleton and Matthew Hove. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Julie Stapleton, Jill Waloch, Jennifer Bergstrom, Bonnie Sebek, Deb Hook, Kalyn Hove, Denise Swenson, Shane Swenson, Amy Sebek, Rachel Hove, Megan Hove, Hope Stapleton, Samantha Waloch, Hailey Waloch, Brooke Hove, Carson Sebek, Ashlynn Sebek, Keslar Swenson and Kutler Swenson. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 20l0 from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 PM. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services at the church. Agnes was born on February 25, 1918 near Eden, South Dakota to Oliver and Emma (Lobben) Skogen. Agnes was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church, of rural Sisseton, SD. She attended country school at One Road Township and 2 years of high school at Peever, SD. Following her education she worked various jobs in the community and in Minnesota, before marrying Kenneth Hove on August 21, 1941 at Ortonville, Minnesota. They farmed and ranched in the Sisseton area for 60 years. She was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church and Hope Ladies Aid. After the church closed they attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Sisseton, SD. She worked at Tekakwitha Nursing Center in housekeeping and then as a nurse's aide. She loved cooking, flower gardening, quilting, family history, painting, card playing, visits with neighbors, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Garden Club, Quilting Club, Pleasant Hour Extension Club, Gray Ladies and a 4-H Leader. Kenneth and Agnes entered Greenleaf Assisted Living Center in 2005. In July 2008 they entered the Tekakwitha Living Center. Kenneth died on January 10, 2009. Agnes died on March 6, 2010 at Tekakwitha Living Center.
Agnes is survived by three children Karen and husband Leo Sebek of Claire City, SD; Calvin and wife Vivian Hove of Sisseton, SD and Debbie and husband Jerry Bergstrom of Lisbon, ND; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth; brothers Harry, Orley, Lester, Oliver, and Orris; and sisters Cora Torstenson and Marlys Nigg; one granddaughter Sarah Bergstrom.
