Funeral Mass for Adeline "Addy" Wegleitner, 79, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:30 .M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Norman Volk, O.M.I. Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Dale Ostby, Erin Buss, Derek Ostby, Dan Wegleitner, Brett Hanson, and Paul Janish. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gus and Gunnar Buss and all of Addy's Friends and Relatives. Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Organist will be Missy Heinecke and song leader will be Sandi Jaspers. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Adeline was born on January 22, 1930 at New Effington, South Dakota to William and Ethel (Hunter) Jordan. She grew up and attended school in Roberts County. After her education she worked at Melvin's Café in Sisseton. Adeline married Joseph Wegleitner Jr. on September 19, 1955 at Webster, South Dakota. The couple moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota until 1957 when they returned to the Wegleitner farm and ranched there for 46 years. Joe passed away in 2003. Addy moved to Sisseton in 2004 where she resided until entering Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton for therapy on January 30, 2009 and where she peacefully passed away on March 5, 2009. Addy liked calves, dogs, cats, helping her husband on the farm, reading and doing crafts.
Adeline is survived by three sisters, Thelma Jordan of Sisseton, SD, Luella Franklin of Browns Valley, MN, Deloris Schneider of Sisseton, SD; and two brothers Williams and Delores Jordan of New Effington, SD and Robert Jordan of New Effington, SD. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers Arnold and Milton; and five sisters Stella, Evelyn, Ruth, Ordella and Darlene.
