Funeral Service for Alice “Ali” Isaac, 92 of Long Hollow, SD will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Long Hollow District Center, Long Hollow, SD with Pastor Robert Beasley and Dale Lohnes officiating. Music will be provided by Kay Burshiem and the Red Storm Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Robert LeBeau, Ron LeBeau, Michael Smith, Todd St. John, Roland Heminger, and Dennis Isaac Seely. Honorary Pallbearers will be Virginia Two hearts, Ramona Isaac St. John, Rose Max, Shirley Isaac Heminger, Lornagene Drum, Evangeline Brant, Bernice Johnson, Henrietta Lohnes, Darrell Lohnes, Michelle Farmer, Debra Canku, Jeanette Barker, Dale Lohnes, Clarice Lohnes Gonzalez, Marcella Haug, and Georgia Lufkins and the staff of the Tekakwitha Living Center. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be All-night Wake Service on Sunday, and Monday night at 7:00 P.M. at the Long Hollow District Center Alice Isaac was born on July 1, 1917 in Sisseton, SD to Frank and Sarah (Pan) Isaac. Alice attended country school. Alice was a very good homemaker, she loved to sew, and care for her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. She loved all children, and loved to tell stories and sing in the old language. She knew all the old medicines and herbs. She was into her Indian culture and heritage. Alice lived her entire life in the Sisseton area. She was one of the last few, to live a traditional Dakota life and always put other people before herself. Alice passed away on May 7, 2010 at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD. Alice is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and extended family. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Agnes, Lucinda, Louisa, and Susan; three brothers, Joe, James, and George.
